Veronica’s Veil

When I was a child the church my mom and I would attend had these beautiful stations of the cross. The 8th station, Jesus meets the women, was very touching and had a tearful Veroinca holding her stained veil. The church got new stations, and I always wish I had a picture of the old ones, because it was so simple and so touching. I wanted to illustrate my own to have as a print around my apartment.

Altar Society

My mother is a member of the Altar Society at the Elm Creek Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.  Its a group of old ladies that organize fundraisers, community events, and the goings on of the church.  My father and I like to joke and say that the Altar Society is secretly a motorcycle gang, so for Christmas I designed a fake back patch for my mom’s gang.  She didn’t like it.  She said it was sacreligious.
